About Chris Evers

Chris Evers is the Past President of the American Public Works Association Florida Chapter(link). Chris has over 23 years’ experience in the heavy highway construction industry.  He is passionate about pavement preservation and has been involved in all facets of heavy highway construction. His contributions to the APWA Florida Chapter has spanned a multitude of Committee Chairs, Task Forces and Officer Positions.  During his term as President of the Chapter he founded the Public Works Director Roundtable (link) initiative which takes place annually at the Florida Public Works EXPO. He also founded and moderates the International Public Works Director Roundtable at PWX.
Chris is a tireless advocate for Public Works. He’s adopted causes such as fixing the gas tax, was part of the founding of the Florida Pavement Preservation Council (link) and helped organize Operation Sister City a relief effort for victims of Hurricane Michael. Chris is a frequent contributor for the FCAP Florida Journal and the Florida Public Works Magazine. However he is probably best known as “Mr. Pavement”, Public Works-a-Lot (link) group founder and lyricist!
